Colon Hydrotherapy

Is your Colon Healthy?

A strong, cleansed and well functioning colon I believe is essential to maintain good health.

A poorly functioning, unclean colon could be a breeding ground for disease and sickness. Colon health care in the UK has be vastly neglected,

Colon health is directly related to the quality of food/drink we eat/drink. The typical British diet comprised of refined, processed foods high in saturated fats, sugar, preservatives and low in fibre, inevitably causing problems for the colon. Over time, the colon will lose the ability to process vital nutrients, absorb water and eliminate faecal matter from the body.

Constipation:-

Constipation is commonly known as a condition where the faecal matter is so tightly packed together that the bowel movements are infrequent, with difficulty to pass the stools.

A fully holistic view of your body’s functioning, could lead to a better quality of life!

Some people say that colonics wash out intestinal flora (good bacteria in the bowel) and valuable nutrients, Is this true?

Washing out putrefied material in the colon can increase the good intestinal flora. Good bacteria can only bread in a clean environment which has been washed free of putrefaction and it’s accompanying harmful bacteria.

Nutrients can be better absorbed in a clean environment than in a putrefied one. An experienced colonic therapist will advise you to take a pro biotic supplement each day.

History of Colon Hydrotherapy:-

The therapy of the colon (large intestine or bowel) and its benefits have been known and practiced for hundreds of years.

Dated back to ancient times, enemas have been recorded back as early as 1500 B.C. In earlier times people used enemas treatments in a river by using a hollow reed to introduce water into the rectum.

Colonic Hydrotherapy peaked in popularity in the 1920’s – 40’s. And in the last 15 years there has been a surge of interest in alternative medicine. Once again people are discovering the many benefits of maintaining a strong and biologically sound colon.

Frequently asked questions & answers:-

What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Also known as “colonic”, “Colonic irrigation”, “colon lavage” or “high colonic”, Colonic Hydrotherapy is a safe, effective method. Peristalsis contractions in your bowel are gently stimulated using warm, filtered water.

What happens during a Colon Hydrotherapy treatment?

A verbal consultation will take place between myself and the client and the needs of the clients will be established. During the treatment warm filtered water will be gently introduced into the colon via a disposable speculum. This is not at all messy and there is no odour as the tube is enclosed. The procedure is not painful or uncomfortable and your modesty will be preserved at all times. The clinic has ensuite bathroom facilities ensuring the client feels safe and relaxed.

Why do people have Colon Hydrotherapy?

There are a variety of different reasons. There really is not one reason but all customers have been extremely satisfied with the results whatever their initial reason.

What happens during a consultation?

I will personally sit down with the client and listen to what the client has been experiencing and ask what the client needs. I will go through forms that have already been filled out online. Follow up consultations are not compulsory and only booked if the client requires it.

How many colonics do I need?

You can have as many or as little as you are happy with within reason.

How do I prepare for my colonic?

Do not eat 2 hours before your appointment, ensure that you are as hydrated as possible, 2 to 3 litres of un-chilled filtered water is recommended each day, avoid meal times when drinking too. Avoid fizzy drinks, energy drinks, and limit caffeine intake for a week prior. Avoid any foods that cause you gas on the day and for a few days prior.

What comes out during a colonic treatment?

During a colonic treatment we use warm purified water to gently stimulate your colon to empty itself.
People often perceive with a colonic we are able to ‘suck, remove or pump out’ waste material from your colon, but we don’t. We only stimulate your colon to do its own job.

What comes out depends upon what might be in there, and what your body releases. We therefore can’t guarantee we can empty it out.

Stress has a huge impact on your digestive system as well as diet and lifestyle, so often it can be a multitude of factors. Often diet will help or hinder, but won’t necessarily be the solution to it all.

Having said that lots of people find it very cleansing and a good start to change things.

Following the advise of what to do before can really benefit too.

How much does it cost?

Organic herbs may be used during your session if Erica feels they will help and if not contraindicated, they are tailored to the individual, then they are gently absorbed into the colon vis an enema kit. A regular colonic session with the filtered water is part of this treatment too.

Why not add-on a Coffee Enema, Probiotic Implant or Castor Oil Wrap to further enhance your treatment?

The couch in my treatment room has a weight capacity of 20 stones. If you weigh more than that, then unfortunately I cannot treat.

A question I get asked a lot is am I ok to have my colonic while I’m on my period? The answer is YES

If you have any other questions or would like some other information please call/email me,

I look forward to meeting and hopefully treating you soon!

Thank you for taking some time to visit my site

Take care

Bloating after a colonic?

Sometimes when your bowel has been under pressure for a time a few things happen.
Gases build up as the congested waste matter ferments, and the excess waste puts the bowel under physical pressure.
During a colonic we help your bowel to release the waste matter and gases.
Afterwards it can take a little while for the bowel to relax properly back to it natural state and often there can still be gas trapped that starts to move.
The gas molecules become ‘excited’ and create pressure inside the bowel, a bit like shaking a bottle of fizzy pop, and it can take time to release and then for the bowel to relax back.

Muscles also use glucose and oxygen to function and excrete carbon dioxide and lactic acid as waste products.
If your bowel has been under pressure for a long time, it takes time for the carbon dioxide and lactic acid to be excreted and be replaced with the glucose and oxygen nutrients.
A bit like cramp in your leg can be a bit achy or sore for a time after the cramp has gone away.

That’s why sometimes your abdomen can feel bloated or grumpy afterwards, so drink plenty of warm fluid, eat a light diet and take a warm bath if you can.
